ORGANISER
The Rendacon Animation Film Festival is proudly organized by SPOOF MEDIA LTD, the same team that organizes Lagos Comic Con . Over the years, it has evolved into a vital event within Africa's creative space, fostering growth in the animation industry and bridging the gap between creators and audiences.
Lagos Comic Con is West Africa’s largest gathering for lovers of comics, animation, gaming, literature, and all things geek culture. Since its inception, the convention has brought together diverse creatives, including animators, authors, game developers, and cosplayers, while hosting renowned industry figures. It is more than a festival — it’s a movement that celebrates the boundless potential of human imagination.
Through its sister event, Rendacon, Lagos Comic Con continues to provide a platform for African creators to shine, offering opportunities to showcase their work, collaborate, and learn from global experts. Together, both events are transforming Africa’s creative landscape and propelling the region’s animation industry onto the world stage.
VISION
Our vision at Rendacon is to build a thriving animation ecosystem in Africa, starting with Nigeria as a hub of creativity and talent. We aim to nurture the industry by promoting collaboration, education, and innovation within the animation space.
Central to this vision is our Animators' Directory — a unique networking tool that connects creators, studios, and professionals across the continent. By fostering a sense of community, we encourage animators to share ideas, pool resources, and seize new opportunities. This growing network is key to unlocking the vast potential of African animation, creating an environment where creatives can thrive and take their stories to the world.
As the animation industry grows, Rendacon is committed to unlocking new economic opportunities for African creatives. Our goal is to see African animated stories recognized globally, celebrating the richness of our cultures and the diversity of our voices. Together, we are scripting a future where African animation is at the forefront of the global storytelling revolution.
